Assign material to objects

Shows step-by-step how to assign specific materials to objects such as walls, ceilings and floors for 3D visualization.

Before you begin

You can sue this command to assign specific materials to objects such as walls, ceilings and floors for 3D visualization.

Navigate to:

Project tabDiscipline ArchitecturePlanning type 3D - Model planning / 2.5D - Model planningCreate tabCommand group Walls, Ceilings, Columns

Procedure

  1. If necessary, click on the arrow symbol of the Assign material < button to expand the area.
  2. Select the material to be assigned from the drop-down list.
    Preview window displays an image of the selected material.
  3. If necessary, activate the Mirror checkbox so that the image of the material is displayed mirrored horizontally.
  4. If necessary, activate the checkbox Transparent so that the images of the material are displayed transparently on the objects and adjust the percentage value for transparency if required.
  5. If necessary, activate the checkbox Tile to display the image of the material in several tiles.
    Note: The image of the material is only displayed in several tiles if the area is larger than the tile dimensions.
    The input fields for the width and height of the individual tiles are activated.
  6. If necessary, adjust the width and height of the tiles.
  7. Make sure that the visual style is set to Realistic so that the assigned material is visible.
  8. Click on Assign material <.
  9. In your drawing, select the objects that are to receive the material.
  10. Right-click to end the process..

Results

You have now assigned specific materials to objects such as walls, ceilings and floors for 3D visualization. The assigned material is displayed in the AutoCAD properties in the 3D visualization.
