Initial Installation Using USB Stick

Shows step-by-step how to install LINEAR software using a LINEAR USB installation stick.

Before you begin

You received a LINEAR USB installation stick from us (as a new customer or on request for updates) and would like to install software using the stick LINEAR.

Requirement:

All the points mentioned on the Prerequisites for installing software protection page are taken into account.

Since the LINEAR USB installation stick may not always contain the latest versions, please check after installing the LINEAR software whether the supplied versions of the software and the LINEAR Admins are up to date.

The Software updates section supports you.

Procedure

Connect the USB installation stick to an available USB port on of client.

Tip:
If the installation does not start automatically, open the LINEAR USB installation stick with Windows Explorer and double-click the Setup.exe file in the Setup folder.
Follow the installation routine and install the LINEAR Admin, the LINEAR Installation Center and the software protection driver (HASP-HL device driver) in addition to the LINEAR software.
Then follow the instructions of the installation process.

Results

You installed the LINEAR software and all other required components and made sure that they are up to date.
