Calculating Networks

Learn how to calculate pipe and duct networks.

For the Pipe and Air Duct Network Calculations, the topography of the pipe network is detected including all connected components. The pipes and ducts are then dimensioned on the basis of material and component data and the specified settings for calculation.

Prior to the calculation, you can define general settings for the calculation in the Settings dialog. Here, you select e.g. the calculation procedure or maximum values for pressure losses and velocities. For pipes and ducts, you specify the material to be used in the pipe tables and the tables of insulation. You enter the technical data for all components. For most of the components, useful default values have already been entered. If valves or pumps are contained in the pipe network, you can select manufacturer data which will be used for the calculation.
