Here you can find all new features of the current version as well as all new features of the last versions! We update the list with the release of the features to the respective update (Feature Pack). You can easily download and install the update to the latest version via the LINEAR Installation Center. 

Note: Most of the new features are only available for subscription customers. 

For major releases (new version number) you need the corresponding licenses. You can request these as a subscription customer on our contact page.

Electrical systems – Manage and organize circuits

LINEAR Solutions V26.2

With the “Electrical systems” feature in the LINEAR Control Board, you can organize the electrical structure of your Revit model directly in a clear tree view. The three-level hierarchy of distribution boards, circuits and electrical components makes relationships easy to identify and simplifies the organization and management of even complex projects.

Create and edit circuits using the context menu. Drag and drop components into existing or new circuits, then assign the circuits to the required distribution boards. This allows you to manage the logical connections between your electrical components centrally in the Control Board, saving significant time.

PV analysis – Assess shading and calculate solar yields

LINEAR Solutions V26.2

With solar and shading analysis, you can examine roof surfaces for shading before placing PV modules. This helps you identify suitable areas for your photovoltaic system.

Three calculation models are available for assessing the potential solar yield: approximate, detailed with weather data, and module-based for calculating the yield of PV modules already placed in the model.

The results are displayed in tables with monthly and annual values. In addition, yield or shading can be visualized directly in the building model using colors. This allows you to locate the results spatially and evaluate them for the next stages of your design.

Photovoltaics – Place PV modules on roof surfaces with an instant preview

LINEAR Solutions V26.2

With the new PV modeling functions, you can place PV modules on the required roof surfaces in your Revit model. Set the orientation, spacing and tilt angle directly in the LINEAR Control Board.

As you draw the PV array with the mouse, a preview shows the arrangement and number of modules. This allows you to see how the selected roof surface will be covered before you place the modules.

26 new electrical families and connections for conduit design

LINEAR Solutions V26.2

You now have 26 new families of electrical installation devices available for your electrical design. These include additional switch and push-button variants, multimedia outlets and KNX components. The existing families have also been revised and optimized.

You can use the new installation devices with the familiar LINEAR frame, installation line and floor box configurators. Empty mounting boxes with conduit connections have also been added to the new families, allowing you to route conduits all the way to the installation devices.

Automatic legend creation now also available for electrical design

LINEAR Solutions V26.2

The LINEAR legend function now also automatically creates suitable legends for your electrical drawings. The function identifies the families included in the drawing and generates a legend of the components used. For installation devices, the corresponding family symbols are used.

Revised pipe manifold configurator with rectangular cross-sections

LINEAR Solutions V26.2

The revised configurator allows you to create custom pipe manifolds for heating, potable water, waste water, cooling, gas and fire protection. Rectangular cross-sections are now also available, allowing you to represent generic compact manifolds realistically in your project. A live 3D preview shows the current design as you configure it.

Flange dimensions are automatically applied in accordance with DIN EN 1092, depending on the selected nominal diameter and pressure rating. For special cases, you can define and save your own flange dimensions. You can then place the completed manifold in a plan view or 3D view of your model.

Existing manifolds can be loaded back into the configurator and edited. This also applies to manifolds created with the previous configurator.

Identify the most unfavorable flow path directly in the calculation printout and model

LINEAR Solutions V26.2

The most unfavorable flow path is now clearly identified in the calculation printout. It is listed in “General data” and marked with an asterisk (*) in the “Pipe sections per flow path” section. This makes the calculation easier to follow and check.

In addition, the “Most unfavorable flow path” visualization option is now available for all disciplines. This allows you to check the flow path directly in the model and display it in a drawing for printing.

LINEAR Solutions V26.2

The LINEAR Knowledge Base now supplements its comprehensive help content with short videos. Directly in the relevant help article, you can find background information on the functions used and see how to use specific features and carry out individual steps in the software. This makes it easier to follow the workflows described and apply them in your own design work.

A lot of videos are already available alongside the step-by-step instructions, and the collection is continually expanding. In addition, links take you to relevant courses in LINEAR E-Learning, where you can deepen your knowledge of specific topics. The Knowledge Base for quick reference and the extensive e-learning offering for structured learning and further training complement each other.

Use system class abbreviations for component labels

LINEAR Solutions V26.2

In response to requests from the LINEAR Idea Channel, a new configuration option is available for Revit: you can display the relevant system abbreviation directly in the Revit properties of all components in a model. You can then use the corresponding parameter for labels, for example in pipe networks.

The system abbreviations are stored in the “System types” dialog and can be customized as required.

Excel export in accordance with ÖNORM H 6015-2 for duct fabrication

LINEAR Solutions V26.2

In addition to e-klimaX, an Excel export in accordance with ÖNORM H 6015-2 is now available for transferring duct components to fabrication. When the region is set to “Austria”, the duct components are exported as a parts list in XLSX format in accordance with Austrian measurement rules.

The parts lists support on-site measurement checks and data transfer to duct manufacturers who do not use e-klimaX. This provides the dimensions required for ordering in a ready-to-use Excel file.

Flexible pipe and insulation material assignment now also available for gas networks

LINEAR Solutions V26.2

The familiar “Pipes and insulation” dialog is now also available for the Gas discipline. You can use pipe materials from different manufacturers within the same network or assign the same material to all pipes using a default material. Material assignments can also be changed later, independently of the material originally used for modeling.

During network detection, automatic location assignment identifies pipe types based on the network topology. Different materials can be assigned on this basis, eliminating the need for manual assignment in many cases. If necessary, you can adjust assignments selectively, for example to assign alternative materials to individual pipe sections.

Identify component connections directly in the 3D model in the CAD Browser

LINEAR Solutions V26.2

In the CAD Browser, you can now identify component connections directly in the 3D model. The 3D indicators are positioned automatically based on the stored VDI 3805 geometry data. They show the connection position and shape as well as its direction, where defined.

This allows you to locate connections faster and identify possible errors in product geometry at an early stage.
