Installation line configurator with a wide range of placement options

LINEAR Solutions V24.3

With the LINEAR installation line configurator, combinations of switches, sockets, room thermostats etc. can also be set up at different installation heights simply by dragging and dropping. Conveniently define your complete installation lines and use various placement modes for an optimal arrangement in the model. The innovative "Door" mode makes it possible to align these installation lines precisely to selected doors. The "Room-Doors" mode is even faster. Once activated, all you have to do is select the relevant MEP rooms and the installation lines are automatically placed next to the door in all rooms at the selected distance. Of course, you can also place them freely or define a distance to the next edge. This enables installation in a corner of a room with a suitable distance to the wall, for example.

All placement modes naturally take into account the distances between the frames and the horizontal alignment of the symbols to ensure correct display in the floor plan. This not only increases the efficiency of the planning process, but also the quality and precision of the results.

The frame and installation line configurator are indispensable tools for efficient electrical planning that considerably simplify your entire design process.

Families and placement modes for inspection covers

Revisionsdeckel.png

LINEAR Solutions V24.3

The integration of Revit families for inspection openings was a highly requested feature from our users in the IDEA Channel. To meet this demand, we have expanded our libraries to include highly flexible inspection covers for rectangular and round air ducts.

We have also optimized the placement mode: When installed on round air ducts, the diameter of the duct is automatically detected and used as a parameter value for the inspection cover so that it adapts seamlessly to the round duct.

We have also extended the functionality of the e-klimaX export and the model measurement. In both cases, we automatically take into account the required cut-outs for the placed inspection covers, which ensures precise and error-free documentation in the model allowance and provides the necessary level of detail for model-based production.

Integration of topography into the IFC-Link workflow for improved building detection

LINEAR Solutions V24.3

Use the detailed geometric information of the topography from your linked IFC architecture model to achieve an even more precise building survey. With the introduction of the new "Ground level from topography" option, we are improving the process of analyzing the exact course of the terrain along the building envelope.

Components in contact with the ground are identified and classified in LINEAR Building according to their position in relation to the ground - either as "adjoining to ground" or "adjoining to exterior". This means that the thermal properties of the components in the model are taken into account even more correctly.

Improved user guidance and optimization in the UI of the potable water calculation

Improved user guidance and optimization in the UI of the potable water calculation

LINEAR Solutions V24.3

In the calculation dialogue for potable water pipe networks, we have moved the hygienic functions to the control board so that they can be used in a similar way to the visualization without having to open the calculation dialogue again. From here, you can then immediately visualize important data such as ambient temperatures or details on the ejection process directly in the analyzed potable water network.

We have also optimized the dialog for the flow path data. All relevant information such as temperature curves, mass flows or total pressure losses can now be seen in a single, central dialog.

Information levels for precise data management in BIM projects

LINEAR Solutions V24.3

The introduction of element classes and property sets has already enabled structured management and checking of data in the model. With the latest extension - the information levels - we go one step further and offer the option of organizing information in levels and thus mapping Employer's Information Requirements – (EIR), for example.

Assigning specific information levels for each attribute via element classes and property sets ensures that the information content of each project phase corresponds exactly to the predefined criteria. This method makes it possible to implement the EIR specifications at the start of the project and to update them continuously in accordance with further requirements from the BIM Execution Plan (BEP). You can define the information levels yourself and assign them to the corresponding Level of Information Need (LOIN).

This allows you to control the parameters displayed within the LINEAR properties. For example, you could define the information levels as "preliminary design" with a LOIN of 100, "design" with a LOIN of 200 and "execution" with a LOIN of 400 and thus only see the values that are required in the respective phase at any time. You can easily add any deviations from the required information and assigned LOIN.

Even more BIM for AutoCAD with the new Parameter Manager

LINEAR Solutions V24.1

The possibility of realising BIM requirements with AutoCAD is raised to a significantly higher level with the innovative LINEAR Parameter Manager. This new function allows you to organise information in drawings and models not only conveniently, but also extremely efficiently. Create parameters and parameter sets exactly according to your requirements. By defining different information levels, you can customise the level of detail and assign a variable number of parameters in each case. Regardless of whether you adhere to national planning phases or prefer your own designations - you retain control over the right information at the right time.

By defining value ranges or answer options, the in-built consistency checks help to increase the quality of the data. If predefined conditions are not met, the relevant parameters are highlighted in colour so that you can make corrections quickly and easily. This allows you to effectively avoid errors and inconsistencies in your projects. A further step towards parameterised working with AutoCAD and managing all information on the model.
