About the Heat Transmission Resistances

Explains the concept of heat transmission resistances in relation to building requirement calculations.

Components whose U-value is determined from a layered structure use heat transmission resistances for this purpose, which are stored in the options. The default values are taken from the valid standard.

In the respective dialogs, a heat transmission resistance is stored for interior and exterior components, divided according to the direction of heat flow. This approach has the advantage that the component exterior wall can also be used as an interior wall, or the floor can also be used as a ceiling. Depending on the position of the component, the correct heat transmission resistance is then used in the calculation.
