About VDI and BDH datasets

Explains the concept of VDI and BDH datasets in radiator dimensioning.

There are two different types of radiator data sets in LINEAR Building, BDH and VDI. To distinguish them, the manufacturers' menu items in the system preselection are marked with <BDH> or <VDI>.

For VDI datasets, you can specify additional material, colors and locations of connection globally or per radiator. The possible settings depend on the presettings of the selected manufacturer and on the model series. Some manufacturers also supply the appropriate connection material for certain connectors. VDI data records have to be available as LINEAR Material Management File (MMD).

BDH datasets can be imported at any time. You can only import VDI data sets if you have a suitable license.
