About the Initial Setup of a Network HASP SRM Dongle

Get information about the initial setup of a HASP SRM dongle.

HASP SRM dongles are physical hardlocks that are individually prepared by LINEAR for each customer and delivered by mail. In addition to the dongles, you will receive your corresponding linlic.-license file via e-mail, which is required for the initial licensing. With the help of the license file, your licenses will be loaded onto the dongle. This allows you, e.g. in case of a hardware failure, to simply connect the dongle with the licenses to another server and configure this server as a license server. The name of the license file consists of the dongle number and the file extension *.linlic. You can upload license files to the dongle either automatically or manually. Both ways are explained below.

Note:

HASP SRM dongles require a connection to the Internet every 30 days. During this connection, the dongle determines whether it is on a blacklist or not. This ensures that the dongle cannot be used further in case of misuse or loss. If no connection can be established, the dongle locks itself until it can connect to the Internet the next time.
