Details on Component Data for Outlets

Information about the technical data dialog for outlets.

An outlet is responsible for supplying or removing air from the room in a wide variety of designs. All outlets, including slot and swirl diffusers, gratings and air valves, are pooled in this component type.

If a manufacturer component has been used, its data will be displayed automatically (read-only).

Room data

In the Room data section, you can see the general data of the room as well as the sound level and volume flow rate data of the selected outlet. The distance from the reading point is essential for the determination of the room absorbability of the particular outlet. The proportion of the volume flow rate can be corrected or adjusted, although this is normally done collectively in the room for all outlets.

The result of the calculation is the total volume flow rate for the room as well as target and actual sound levels.

Sound level

This section is part of the shared dialog sections, which are described collectively on a help page.

For outlets, a much more nuanced entry of parameters relevant for sound calculation is required. In order to be able to determine the most correct level reduction in the room, both the Location in room and the Radiation angle of the outlet are required.

When determining the sound power level or the sound level reduction, respectively, several approaches are available from manufacturer data, determination according to VDI 2081, direct entry of the sound power level to manual entry of one or all octave bands.

For air outlets, you can also Fill in sound level manually or Calculate sound level reduction based on end reflection. In case of manual input, you can enter the values into the fields of the octave band. When selecting calculation by end reflection, you have to specify a value in the Geometric area of the air diffuser front field.
