Creating Classification Systems

Shows step by step how you can create classification systems.

Before you begin

You want to create your own classification systems to classify components according to certain attributes.

Procedure

Navigate to the LINEAR installation directory: ..\CAD\RevitMain\User-Standards\Classification and copy the templates found there.
Paste the copied files and rename them.

Tip:
If you want to integrate a wordbook into the classification system, copy IFC-Wordbook.xlsx from the LINEAR installation directory: ..\CAD\RevitMain\Support\Classification, paste it, rename it and adapt the content.
Rename Index Template.xml to Index.xml.
Open Index.xml.
Adapt all entries to the needs of your classification system.
If applicable, change ParameterType to "Type".
If necessary, create more versions.
Create further Excel files as necessary for the additional versions.
Open the Excel files which are to be used in your classification system.
Adapt all entries to the needs of your classification system.
Fill the tables with the relevant content of your classification system and save them.
Restart LINEAR CAD Solutions.

Results

You have now created your own classification system and it is available for use in the Classification table as System.
