Error Message: Error 5039/Key Type: Cloned in Admin Control Center

Problem

You are using a softlock and get the following error message.

In the Admin Control Center, the Key Type of your software protection is shown as Cloned under Sentinel Keys.

Causes

This error message may occur under various circumstances.

  • Your hardware configuration has changed.
  • You used Apple products with a boot loader.
  • Your virtual server has been moved to another host.
  • You performed a backup and restore of your system or cloned your PC.
