Details on "Radiators"
Information on the technical data dialog for radiators.
You are here:

Room
No. Enter a consecutive number for the room. This field is alphanumeric.
Name: The name of the room, which must be entered manually. The room name is displayed in the output.
Inside Temperature Enter the desired inside temperature for this room. This input is not applied to the calculation but merely serves to complete your model.
Radiators
Manufacturer, Model, Type: Here, you can enter the manufacturer, the model and the type of the radiator. This input is output in the parts list.
Construction Height, Construction Depth, Construction Length, Quantity of Rad. Sections: Measurements of the radiator are, like the manufacturer’s name, part of the parts list. This input also is not considered during calculation.
Heat Capacity, selected: The capacity to be entered manually, which is used in the calculation or which the radiator is supposed to reach in the design condition. If you enter a value in this field, the values will update accordingly in the Mass Flow Rate field and in the Return and Differential Temperature fields of the Change Design Data dialog.
Mass Flow Rate, selected: As an alternative to a heat capacity, you can specify the Mass Flow Rate. The heat capacity is automatically calculated using the supply/return temperature set in the heating pipe network calculation. For radiators coming from LINEAR Building, the mass flow rate is transferred. If you enter a value in this field, the values will update accordingly in the Heat Capacity field and in the Return and Differential Temperature fields of the Change Design Data dialog.
Calculator Icon
Opens the dialog Change Design Data where you can define design data such as the differential temperature more precisely.
Zeta Value, enabled: The zeta value of the radiator also indicates the pressure loss coefficient. Valves are not included in this value.
Pressure Loss, activated: As an alternative to the zeta value, you can also enter the absolute pressure loss in this radiator here.
Single-Pipe Connection, activated: This radiator is considered to be integrated into the single-pipe system in the calculation. The calculation for radiators with a Single-Pipe Connection also requires the mass flow rate and a single-pipe fitting to be specified.
Water Volume: The water volume is required to calculate the system volume and to lay out the diaphragm expansion tank if it is included in the model. If the water volume has not been specified, a report will be issued during calculation. Radiators coming from LINEAR Building already carry this information.
Connection Set
Integrated Radiator Valves: If the thermostatic valve and the radiator lockshield valve have been drawn as separate components, you can switch off the integrated radiator valves here. This prevents that two valves appear in the calculation for this radiator.
Enabled: The radiator fittings/valves do not need to be placed separately; a suitable valve is selected from the valve preselection for the calculation.
Flow, Radiator Lockshield Valve
The currently selected valve is shown. If the shown valve has been inserted from global valve selection, the button Reset will be deactivated. To the right of this, the kv values (kv(min), kv(max), and kv(target)) are displayed, followed by the valve setting after calculation. These values also appear in the printout.
Select ...: Opens the Select Valve Series dialog, where you can select the valve for this radiator. After the initial calculation, the program tries to insert a fitting valve from global valve selection. You may select a different valve for individual radiators with this button, in case those from global pre-selection are not suited.
Reset: Resets a manual valve selection for this radiator to the global valve pre-selection.
Radiator Lockshield Valve, selected:
Hydraulic balancing also takes place at this radiator via the radiator lockshield valve (RLV). Clicking on Select ... opens the Select Valve Series dialog, where you can select the manufacturer and valve type. The Reset button is available if a global selection for return fittings has been replaced with a manual selection. A manual selection of radiator lockshield valves remains independent of the status (activated/deactivated) of this option.
