Details on Component Data for Non-return Valves

Information about the component data dialog for check valves.

In this dialog, you specify the component data that will be used in the calculation. In addition, for manufacturer-neutral fittings, you can select the connection type for the component connections.

Dialog “Technical Data” of non-return valves in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk Revit

Name

In this field you can enter an individual name for the component. Clicking on restores the original name and overwrites the previous entry.

Valve Data

Here you can assign VDI valves to the component. The range of valves depends on the installed manufacturer datasets. The data of the assigned valve is then used for the calculation and the area for specifying the zeta or cvs value and the opening pressure for the calculation of neutral components is deactivated.

Select ...: Opens the Select Valve Series dialog where you can assign VDI valves to the component. The range of valves depends on the installed manufacturer datasets.

Reset: The Reset button resets the manually assigned VDI valve to a neutral model.

Nominal Diameter

Shows the current nominal diameter of the valve of the system. You can select and set other dimensions from the drop-down list depending on the model. The determined nominal diameter is then used in the calculation.

locked

Enabled: The manually selected nominal diameter of the assigned valve is not adjusted during calculation.

Disabled: The nominal diameter of the assigned valve is adjusted based on the calculation results. The new assigned nominal diameter will be displayed the next time the dialog is opened.

Inlet, Outlet

Drop-down lists for selecting the connection types for the component's connections. This option is available only for manufacturer-neutral components. After selecting a connection, the selected connection type is also assigned to the other component connections. If necessary, you can also assign different connection types to the connections. The selected connections are included in the bill of materials. Based on the connection definition and the selected piping system, any required fittings will also be included in the bill of materials, provided that the data set for the selected piping system includes them.

Data Table

The technical data of the assigned VDI valve is listed in the table.

Zeta, cvs Value, Opening Pressure

In this area, you can define either a Zeta Value or a kvs Value and the Opening Pressure of the valve for the calculation of neutral non-return valves. If a VDI valve is already assigned to the component, this area is deactivated. Click on Reset to reactivate the area.
