Details on Technical Data for Control Valves

Information about the component data dialog for control valves.

In this dialog, you specify the component data that will be used in the calculation. In addition, for manufacturer-neutral fittings, you can select the connection type for the component connections.

Dialog “Technical Data” for control valves in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk Revit

Name

In this field you can enter an individual name for the component. Clicking on restores the original name and overwrites the previous entry.

Valve Data

Select ...: Use this button to select a manufacturer-specific or, if applicable, user-defined control valve and assign it to the selected component by clicking the Apply button. After selection, the chosen valve is displayed in the dialog with its specific data. The range of manufacturer valves depends on the installed manufacturer datasets. Further valves can be read in via VDI3805 interface in the Select Valve Series dialog.

Reset: The Reset button resets the manually assigned armature to a neutral model.

Info …: Available when valve data is selected. When using manufacturer-specific valves, opens the dialog Information about this Valve with further values and information stored in the data set. For custom valves, the Curve Data dialog opens with information on the custom data set.

Nominal Diameter: In this drop-down list the current nominal diameter of the valve is displayed. Here, you may select a dimension from the drop-down list to which the valve will be set. The set nominal diameter will be used for the calculation. If you disable the option fixed next to the drop-down list, you leave the dimensioning to the program, which then assigns a nominal diameter based on the calculation results.

The new nominal diameter selected by the program will subsequently be displayed when you open the dialog the next time.

Inlet, Outlet

Drop-down lists for selecting the connection types for the component's connections. This option is available only for manufacturer-neutral components. After selecting a connection, the selected connection type is also assigned to the other component connections. If necessary, you can also assign different connection types to the connections. The selected connections are included in the bill of materials. Based on the connection definition and the selected piping system, any required fittings will also be included in the bill of materials, provided that the data set for the selected piping system includes them.

Further Data

The current values for kv(Min), kv(Max), kv(Target), the valve setting, and the mass flow and pressure drop of the valve are displayed.

Attention:

Balancing valves always consist of two components, which you must reassign to each other after copying them. By using the Connect Components < function, you have the option to select the two copied components one after the other and to reassign them thus.
