Setting Location and Climate Data for the Cooling Load Calculation of a User-defined Location

Shows step-by-step how to set the location and climate data for a location in your project that is not available in the Country and Weather Station selections.

Before you begin

You have detected a building and would like to set a user-defined location for your project to accurately determine the dynamic cooling load.

Procedure

  1. Download a user-defined TRY file of DWDTRY-FORMAT V1.2 format for the desired project location.
    Note:

TRY files can be created e.g. with the software Meteonorm for any locations.

  2. Store this file in the Cooling Load/User-Standards/TRY program folder. The file is available in the program after the next start of LINEAR Building.
  3. From the Country drop-down list, select user-defined.
  4. From the Weather Station drop-down list, selec the entry with the desired location name.
    Note:

If you have stored multiple TRY files in the Cooling Load/User-Standards/TRY program folder, the associated datasets are all available from the drop-down list.

The weather data for the selected project location are applied and the temperature profile data are adjusted.

  5. Optional: In the Project location section, change the name of the project location.

The name of the project location is given in the printout.

  6. Optional: Change the height, longitude and latitude.
  7. Optional: Change the climate zone and the height of the reference station.

Starting from a height difference of 650 m between reference station and project location, the cooling load is calculated with appropriate correction factors.

Results

The location and climate data are set correctly. The underlying data is used for the cooling load calculation.
