Performing Heat Load Quick Entry

Shows step-by-step how to perform a quick entry for an approximate heat load calculation.

Before you begin

You would like to create rooms in the Quick entry section in order to determine an approximate heat load based on the room areas.

Requirements:

  • You have defined the general heat load data for the approximate heat load calculation.
  • The building structure contains at least one storey.
Note:

The quick entry does not replace the heat load calculation according to the standard and is only used for the approximate determination of area-related values.

Procedure

  1. Click in an empty row and select the desired room type in the context menu that appears.

The room has been created and the room temperature variable deposited for the room type has been applied, unless you have activated the Inside temperatures according to standard option in the general heat load data.

  2. Enter the Width and Length of the room to determine the Area or enter the Area directly.
  3. If necessary, adjust the temperature or temperature variable unless you have activated the Inside temperatures according to standard option in the general heat load data.
You can enter values manually or select a temperature variable using the button in the Temperatures dialog.
  4. If necessary, adjust the area-related heat load (Heat load W/m²) if you have deactivated the apply globally option in the general heat load data.
You can enter values manually or use the button in the Approximate heat load dialog to select a building type to apply the area-based heat load assigned to the building type.
The calculated approximate heat load of the room is displayed in the Heat load W column.
  5. If necessary, adjust the calculated approximate heat load of the room.
  6. Create the remaining rooms of the storey as described.
  7. If necessary, click New storey in the Building structure to create additional storeys and create the rooms of the storeys as described.

Results

You have performed the heat load quick entry.

What to do next

You can now design the rooms based on the determined approximate heat loads of the rooms.
