Configuring Parameters in the Property Set

Shows step-by-step how to restrict parameters in a property set or add criteria to them.

Before you begin

You want to configure the parameters of a property set in order to define meaningful defaults for the input of parameter values.

Requirements:

You have created an element class that is linked to the property set.

Navigate to:

Revit ribbon ➤ LINEAR tab ➤ Administration: Element Classes and Property Sets

Applies to all disciplines.

Procedure

  1. Select the desired property set from the list of Property sets.
    Note:

    If necessary, deactivate the filter to display all property sets.

  2. In the Properties area, click on in the row of the desired parameter in the Restrictions column to open the Restrictions dialog: Click on ....
  3. Select the type of restriction and enter the relevant filters. Confirm the restriction by clicking OK.
  4. Specify the parameter binding with which the parameter is to be created in the Preference when creating column. Close the dialog by clicking OK

Results

The parameters of the desired property set are configured and are displayed with the set restrictions in the properties dialog when a corresponding element is selected.
