Creating New Property Sets

Shows step-by-step how to create a new property set and assign the corresponding element classes.

Before you begin

You want to specify which properties should be displayed for elements of an element class in the properties dialog.

Requirements:

You have created at least one element class to which you want to link the property set.

Navigate to:

Revit ribbonLINEAR tabAdministration: Element Classes and Property Sets

Applies to all disciplines.

Procedure

  1. Click on New property set in the Property set section.

    A new property set is created and the settings are displayed on the right-hand side of the dialog. The new property set is automatically linked to the most recently selected element class.

  2. Enter the desired Name and a Description.
  3. In the Scope of application section, click on Select ... if you want to link another or further element classes.
    The dialog Select element classes opens.
  4. In the Select element classes dialog, deactivate the Hide unselected entries option and activate the desired element classes in the list. Confirm with OK.
  5. Click on New attribute in the Properties section.
    The Select parameters: dialog: Click on ... .
  6. Select the desired parameter and confirm your selection by clicking OK.

Results

The new property set is created and filled with the first parameters. In the next step, further criteria can be added to the parameters.
