Generate Interference Spaces for Families

Shows step by step how you can generate interference spaces for a family in your project.

Before you begin

You would like to generate interference spaces for families in your project in order to be able to estimate the space requirements of individual elements better.

Navigate to:

Project tab

Procedure

  1. Click the family for which you want to generate interference spaces.
  2. Click Revit RibbonEditEdit Family

    The family is opened in the family editor.

  3. Click Revit RibbonLINEARAdministrationLoG Assistant

    The dialog Create Subcategories for LoG is opened.

  4. Activate all desired Options and confirm your selection with clicking OK.

    The activated interference spaces are generated based on the external dimensions of the family on the corresponding subcategories. A detailed modeling of the interference spaces is the responsibility of the user.

  5. Click Revit RibbonEditLoad (and close) in project to load the family with the generated interference spaces into the project.

Results

The family is in the project with the desired interference spaces. The interference spaces can be shown or hidden with the corresponding function in the properties dialog for views.
