About Pumps

Explains the concept of Pumps in pipe network calculation the scheme generators for the trades heating and potable water.

In the heating pipe networks, circulating pumps are required for the calculation. Circulation pumps are a part of the component boiler system. The potable water piping system may contain circulation pumps and booster stations that are part of the water heater components.

If your pipe network contains a pump, its data are initially neutral. The required delivery height and the required flow rate are calculated by the program. The context menu item Component data... takes you to the technical data of the pump. Here, you may check the calculated values and select a manufacturer model for this component.

If a manufacturer’s pump is assigned to a pump in the pipe network, the data of the selected manufacturer’s model is used in the calculation.

Install an appropriate data set to use the data from manufacturer pumps. Manufacturer data sets can be downloaded via the LINEAR Installation Center.
