About Distribution Factors for Supply Air Rooms

Explains the concept of distribution factors for supply air rooms in fan-assisted ventilation systems.

Distribution factors determine how much the supply air rooms in a ventilation zone are ventilated. These factors depend on how many people use a room and how it is used. A living room, for example, is used more often and by more people than a study or guest room and is ventilated to a correspondingly greater extent. The higher the distribution factor of a room, the higher the supply air volume flow.

The distribution factors distribute the total supply air volume flow in the rooms of a ventilation zone to the individual rooms. For example, if you divide a total air volume flow of 100 m3/h between a bedroom with a factor of 2 and a living room with a factor of 3, the bedroom will have an air volume flow of 40 m3/h and the living room will have an air volume flow of 60 m3/h.

You can adjust the standard-based allocation of distribution factors in the LINEAR Building configuration within the limits specified in the dialog. In the ventilation zone, you can change the distribution factors of the rooms independently of the default in the configuration dialog.
