About the Material Assignment

Explains the concept of the assignment of pipe materials via the Pipe Material List in the discipline Gas.

In the discipline Gas, you can set a global material for the entire gas pipe network. By default, is calculated and, if necessary, dimensioned with a manufacturer-neutral pipe material. In the dialog Pipe Material List, various manufacturer-neutral pipe materials are available. Additionally, further materials can be created. If you want to use a manufacturer's material for the calculation and, if necessary, dimensioning, the corresponding manufacturer data set may need to be installed via the LINEAR Installation Center. After that, the manufacturer must be selected in the Product Data dialog so that its systems are available in the Pipe Tables.

Furthermore, with the pipe material function of the Components section, materials that deviate from the global assignment can be specified for pipe/duct sections.

Note: In a network, can only calculate and dimension with different materials from a single manufacturer or with a combination of materials from a manufacturer and the materials listed under Custom.
