Detecting Buildings with Shafts
Get basic information on how to deal with shafts during building detection.
You can manually place MEP spaces in shafts and then mark them as not Occupiable in the LINEAR Properties. While the building model does not explicitly include this room, it does not mistakenly identify, for example, the walls of a shaft that are adjacent to conditioned rooms as exterior walls.
You can also activate the Automatic Shaft Detection option for Building Detection if it is not possible or too time-consuming to create MEP rooms in shafts, in-wall installations or similar in the model. The walls to these rooms are then also detected as being Adjacent to Conditioned Rooms.
