Details on “Pipe Tables"

Information about the Pipe Tables dialog from pipe network calculation.

In this dialog, you will find compatible pipe systems from all installed manufacturers as well as neutral systems under the manufacturer Custom. In the discipline Gas, in addition to Custom, pipe systems from the manufacturer selected in the Product Data dialog are offered.

Dialog Pipe Tables in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk Revit

Rigid Pipes, Flexible Pipes and Rectangular Ducts

Depending on the column of the Pipes and Insulation dialog from which the pipe tables were opened, the pipe tables are opened with the corresponding tab and the systems and dimensions are listed in the corresponding tables.

Only Rigid Pipes are available in the Gas discipline.

Manufacturer

Drop-down list for selecting the manufacturer. Select the desired material from all installed manufacturers and the corresponding pipe systems. The manufacturer Custom contains neutral pipe systems that can be adjusted and expanded. The input is automatically saved in an external file.

In the discipline Gas, in addition to Custom, only pipe systems from the manufacturer selected in the Product Data dialog are offered.

System

Here you can select all systems that are contained in the selected manufacturer data set.

System tables

In the upper table, systems from the selected manufacturer are displayed. The systems under User-defined are expandable. To create a new system, click into a free row the table.

Element

Description

Active

Activate the field for the system you want to use for the material assignment. For individual pipe/duct sections, you can specify different materials in the Gas discipline using the Pipe Material ... function in the Components area.

Note: This column appears only in the discipline Gas when the dialog is accessed via the function Pipe Tables ….
Name

The name of the pipe system is used for labeling and in parts lists.

Code

The abbreviation of pipe system names is used for labeling.

Roughness

The rougness of the pipe material is used to calculate pressure losses.

Note: This column is not available in the discipline Waste Water.

Drag Coefficient: (Potable Water)

In the discipline Potable Water, each pipe system must be assigned a material-dependent drag coefficient table for the fittings. This assignment usually already exists. If the assignment is missing, select a suitable drag coefficient table for the respective material class.

<< Details, Details >>

Shows or hides the lower dimension table.

Default

Sets the default material of the corresponding discipline if this is not selected. In the discipline Gas, the button is only available when the dialog is accessed via the function Pipe Tables ….

Table of Dimensions

In the lower table, all available dimensions of the selected system are shown. By deactivating certain dimensions, it is specified that these dimensions are not considered in automatic dimensioning.

Note: When assigning different pipe material for individual sections in the Gas discipline, the table is purely informative and cannot be edited.

The dimensions under User-defined are expandable. To create a new dimension, click in an empty row of the table. Dimensions are automatically sorted by size.

Element

Description

Active Only activated dimensions are considered during calculation. You can specifically exclude certain dimensions from automatic dimensioning by deactivating the field. The deactivated dimensions are still available for manual selection in the calculation dialog in the Pipe Section area.
DN Pipe Displays or specifies the available nominal diameters of the pipe.
Ø Interior Interior diameter is used for calculation and dimensioning.
Ø Exterior The exterior diameter is used when assigning insulation materials from the Insulation Material Tables.
DN Valves

Determines the connector size of built in valves.

Name of Dimension

The name of the dimension is used for labeling and in parts lists.
