Functions for the Calculation

The functions in the upper part of the calculation dialog pertain to the entire pipe network.

Element Meaning
Systems

If the project contains several systems or partial networks you may determine which of the systems or partial network to display in the calculation dialog’s tables.

...

This button will open the technical data of the initial component. Here, you can change the system name shown in the drop-down list.

Calculate

Initiate the calculation of the pipe network after having made changes to see current calculation results.

Visualization ...

Results ...

Displays additional information regarding the pipe network and an overview of the calculation results, which also are part of the printouts.

Reports ...

Displays an overview of notes, warnings and errors that occurred during calculation. You can recognize the type of report by the color of the button:

green check mark: No current notes, warnings or errors.

blue i There are notes on the calculation.

yellow warning triangle: There are warnings for the calculation.

red cross: There are errors in the calculation.

Note:

Please always read the report very carefully to correct the errors contained in the model and to ensure a correct calculation of your pipe network.

Labeling …

Label components and duct sections with calculation results.

Update <

If components or duct sections have already been labeled and calculation results have changed retrospectively, this button will refresh all labels with current data.

Functions of the Tables

, Objects are displayed when selected from the lists in the project/model

Activated : The model highlights the objects that belong to the currently selected row in the table of Flow Paths, Pipe Sections, or Ventilated through Pipe Sections. If necessary, the image will be zoomed in to ensure that the objects are visible.

Deactivated : No objects in the model that belong to the currently selected row in the table for Flow Paths, Pipe Sections, or Components are highlighted.

For the areas Flow Paths, Pipe/Duct Sections, and Ventilated through Pipe Section(s), similar functions are available.

Element

Description

,

Flow Path List/Pipe Section List/Maximize or Minimize Pipe Sections for Ventilation

Search <

This function is available in the areas Flow Paths, Pipe/Duct Sections and Ventilated through. After clicking Search < select the element in the model. The respective table then shows the flow path, the pipe section or the ventilation duct section.

If a certain flow path number, a pipe section number or a ventilation duct section number needs to be found, enter the number into the text field and click Search <. The respective table then shows the flow path, the pipe section or the ventilation duct section.

Show

This function is available in the areas Flow Paths, Pipe/Duct Sections and Ventilated through. First, select the element from the table and click Show. The flow path, the pipe section or the ventilation duct section is shown in the model.

Edit …

This function is available in the areas Flow Paths, Pipe/Duct Sections and Ventilated through. First, select the item in the table and click on Edit …. The dialog for editing drainage element, pipe section or ventilation duct section is opened.

Edit <

This function is available in sections Pipe section, and Ventilated by. After clicking Edit <, select the element in the model. The dialog for editing pipe sections is opened.

Comp. Edit <

This function is available in section Ventilated by. After clicking on Comp.-Edit <, select the component in the model. The dialog for editing the component is opened.

Table for Flow Paths

This table shows the calculation data for all flow paths of the selected system. It provides an overview over all ending components of the network. If you select a flow path, the table Pipe Sections displays all corresponding pipe sections. The most unfavorable flow path is highlighted in a different color. You can also select the most unfavorable flow path by pressing U.

Table for Pipe Sections

The table by default shows the calculation data of all pipe sections included in the selected flow path. In the enlarged state, all pipe sections of the entire system are displayed. If you select a pipe section, the table Ventilated through Pipe Section(s) displays all corresponding ventilation pipe sections.

Apply Pipe Section Data Globally

Opens the dialog Define Pipe Sections. This function allows you to assign or reset certain properties of selected or all pipe sections.

Unlock / Lock Pipe Sections

This function allows you to fix or unfix the dimensions of all pipe sections. If values are displayed in bold in theDN column, the dimension of the respective pipe sections will not be adjusted during the calculation. This is sensible when calculating existing systems. If the dimensions of some pipe sections have been fixed already, you will be asked whether to fix or unfix all pipe sections.
