Details on “Value Input”

Information on the Value Input dialog in the Room Data Sheet module.

This dialog box allows you to quickly assign values to parameters in your project. You can specify what value should be set for an output parameter based on the value of the input parameter. You enter the values for this assignment to the output parameter manually in the dialog box.
Tip: If necessary, you can create user-defined parameters using the Property Sets dialog and assign them to a property set using the Property Sets dialog. The new parameters are then available in the Value Input dialog.

Input Parameter

The input parameter and its value form the basis for assigning values to an output parameter. All values for the input parameter should already be stored in the project, such as flooring in rooms. Clicking on opens a context menu from which you can select one or more parameter(s) from different categories and property sets. If you select more than one Input Parameters, these parameters are linked to each other in a logical AND-connection. This means that values of an output parameter can be assigned based on a combinations of input parameters.

Output Parameter

You assign values to the output parameter either manually or using AI, depending on the value of the input parameter. These can be R-values that depend on the type of flooring, i.e., on the value of the input parameter, such as tile, carpet, etc. Clicking on opens a context menu that allows you to select the parameter from various categories and property sets. If values for the output parameter with assignment to the input parameter already exist in the room data sheet, these are transferred to the Values for Output Parameter column.

Additional Prompt

Attention: When using the AI features, please note that the content generated by the AI is created automatically and may contain errors or inaccuracies. No warranty is provided regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the results.

In the Additional Prompt field, you can enter additional information for an AI prompt, which will be included when the AI prompt is sent. For some AI prompts, it may be important to specify the type of building. In this case, the AI prompt could be: This building is a school. Another use case is limiting output values, for example: Set the following limits (min/max) for the output values: 10/200. Restrictions on the calculation of values can also be specified: No power outlets are needed for vacuum cleaners.

Before entering a prompt, note what information is included by default in the request. For more information, see Start an AI Query further down on this help page.

AI Query for Value Suggestions

Dropdown List AI request for value suggestions:

Select a request configuration from this drop-down list. If you do not use a custom configuration for your own accounts with AI providers, the LINEAR Standard configuration is available, which currently uses the gpt-4.1-mini model from OpenAI. After selecting + Create New Configuration, the Settings for the AI Model dialog opens, where you can select an AI provider and connect to your account via the API. Once you have created this configuration, you can select it from the drop-down list.

Start AI Query:

Start the AI query using the configuration selected from the drop-down list. If an additional prompt has been defined, it is sent along with the request to the AI. By default, the request includes the following information, which you no longer need to provide manually using an additional prompt:
  • The meaning of the input parameter—even if it consists of multiple input parameters. The description of the parameter is provided to the AI in form of its meaning.
  • The meaning of the output parameter.
  • The possible response values for output parameters when using list values.

Once the AI has successfully returned the response, the values for the output parameters are added. In addition, for each entry, you will receive a score between 0 and 100 indicating the likelihood that the answer is correct, along with an explanation from the AI.

Settings for the AI Model:

Opens the Settings for the AI Model dialog, where you can edit the settings for the currently selected request configuration. The LINEAR Standard configuration cannot be changed.

Parameter Table

The table lists the values of the Input Parameter and the Values for the Output Parameter in the columns. Entries can only be made in the Values for Output Parameter column. For values to appear in the table for the Input Parameter, values must already be present in the room data sheet. Only then can values be assigned to the Output Parameter. If values for the output parameter have already been entered in the room data sheet, the assignments are transferred to the parameter table.

One example is the assignment of room types. If a room name has already been assigned to each room, the values are displayed in the table, and you can assign a value to the output parameter Room Type based on the input parameter Room Name, either manually or using AI. In this case, changed values are displayed in bold after the AI response has been retrieved.

Prob.:

Displays the probability, expressed as a percentage, that the AI's answer is correct.

AI Explanation:

Displays a brief explanation of why the AI provided that response.

Apply Values

Copies the values determined for the output parameters or entered manually into the corresponding fields in the room data sheet.
