Splitting a Pipe/Duct/Trench Section

Shows step by step how to divide a pipe/duct section or a trench section (Discipline District Networks).

Before you begin

You want to split a pipe/duct section or trench section (Discipline District Networks), for example, to enable a material or dimension change.

Prerequisite

The network has been calculated and the pipe/duct section or trench section to be edited can be accessed in the current view.

Navigate to

Project Tab ➤ Discipline Heating/Potable Water/District Networks ➤ Analyse Tab ➤ Command Group Analyse ➤ Calculation …

Applies to Heating, Potable Water, Cooling and District Networks.

Procedure

  1. In the section Pipe/duct Sections/Trench Sections, click . Confirm the pop-up prompt by clicking Yes.
    The calculation dialog is minimized and the mouse pointer turns into a pickbox.
  2. Use the pickbox to select the pipe/duct section or trench section that you want to split.
  3. Select the block insertion point by clicking at the desired position and define the rotation.
    The calculation dialog is displayed again.
  4. Click Calculate in the calculation dialog and close the dialog when the calculation is complete with OK.

Results

The corresponding section is divided and will be taken into account in the calculation. In the next step, you can make the necessary adjustments to the pipe/duct/trench section with regard to material and/or dimension.
