Import IDS File
Shows step-by-step how to import an IDS file.
Before you begin
You have an IDS file with information requirements for your project and want to import it.
Navigate to:
Procedure
- In the file explorer, select Information Delivery Specification (*.ids) from the drop-down list after File Name.
- Open the respective IDS file.
- Click Peak flow rate....
- Check the available IDS specifications and deactivate those that are not required. Click Next.
- If there are no category assignments, click on
and select the appropriate category in the Select Categories dialog. Once you have made your selection, click Next.
Alternatively, you can transfer existing assignments from the project by clicking on From Project. If the software has not found a definition file of the same name for shared parameters in the IDS file directory, you will be prompted to select a suitable file. If no definition file is available, it can be created before the import.
- If required, enter the information level at which the parameter should be available in the LOI column and decide in the following query whether you want to accept the value for all entries.
- If necessary, adjust the Display Name of the parameters.
- Check and correct open assignments of parameters to the Revit Data Type. Parameters with a unique data type or with a unique definition in the definition file cannot be edited.
- Click on Create Missing Definitions if you have customized open assignments. Any new assignments are added to the selected definition file. If no definition file has been selected, a definition file with the file name of the IDS file is automatically created and stored in the directory of the IDS file with the file extension *.ids.txt.
- Click on Finish.
Results
