Manually Assigning Material Combination

Shows step-by-step how to set material combinations and assign them to pipes.

Before you begin

You want to manually assign pipe system combinations used in the calculation to pipes in the model.

Requirements:

  • The pipe network is closed an can be calculated.

  • The pipe network is detected.

  • The desired material combination has been created.
Note: Make a manual material assignment only if the available automatisms do not lead to the desired result.

Navigate to

Project TabDisciplineAnalyse TabMaterial DataPipes and Insulations …

Procedure

  1. Decide which material combination you want to assign and enable it by clicking in the corresponding row.
  2. Click on Assign ….
  3. In the context menu, select the desired filter.

  4. Select the pipes in the model that are to receive the selected material combination and confirm the selection with Enter.
    Note: When assigning, please note that material changes can only be carried out after T-pieces and after built-in parts with dimension changes. If required, you can separate sections in the Heating, Potable Water and Cooling disciplines or use components as section separator (see task: “Performing a Manual Material Change”).
    Selection of pipes in the Model
    A message indicates how many sections the material combination has been assigned to.
  5. Close the message with OK.
  6. If necessary, repeat the process for additional pipes that may have different material combinations.
  7. Close the Pipes and Insulations dialog with OK to save the settings in the project.

Results

The material combinations have been assigned and can be displayed via the Visualization ….
