Table for Pressure Loss Calculation

By default, the table displays the calculation data for all pipe/duct sections included in the selected flow path. When maximized, all sections of the entire system are displayed. If you select a duct section, the table Components displays all corresponding components.

Edit Pipe/duct Sections

Opens the Pipe/Duct Section Settings dialog, where you can assign different pipe/duct section properties to multiple or all sections at once.

Lock/Unlock Duct Sections

Opens the dialog Lock/Unlock Duct Sections in which you lock or unlock the dimensioning of all components of the selected system, the selected flow path or the selected duct section. Fixed dimensions are shown in bold in columns a, b or d and are not changed during dimensioning. The calculation determines the pressure losses, and the upstream dimensioning determines the dimensions of the duct sections, depending on the set boundary conditions.

Column

Description

No.

Number of the duct section.

Type

Pipe type.

OA: Outdoor Air

SU: Supply Air

EX: Extract Air

EXH: Exhaust Air

T

Air Temperature.

V

Volume flow, if necessary converted taking into account the temperature and the associated air density.

l

Cumulative length of all pipes or ducts of this section.

The length be changed in the table. The new length will be distributed among all ducts of the duct sections proportionately to constructed length. All pipes affected by the change in length will be displayed bold in the tables for duct sections and components.

a

Height of the duct for rectangular- or oval-duct.

w

Width of the duct for rectangular- or oval-duct.

d (dh)

Diameter of the duct for round ducts (the hydraulically equivalent diameter for oval or rectangular cross sections).

v

Velocity.

R

R-value for straight pipes or ducts.

l*R

Pressure loss due to pipe friction in this pipe/duct section.

ζ

Total of zeta values for all components in this pipe/duct section.

Z

Pressure loss due to zeta value.

Δp

Total of all pressure losses.

ΔpW

Static pressure recovery.

ΔpA

Total pressure loss.

Residual dB

(only for sound level calculation)

Unweighted sound level at the outlet of this pipe/duct section.

Unweighted sound power level of all eight octave bands at the end of the pipe/duct section.
