Information on the symbol dialogs of the different disciplines.

The function for placing symbols is available in most disciplines and planning types. The availability depends on the selected discipline.

Dialog symbols in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk AutoCAD

Symbols are drawings summarized in a block, grouped by component types in bars. In the tool bars for your custom symbols you can add symbols yourself (Symbol dialog ➤ Dropdown list ➤ User symbols bar (...) ➤ right mouse click on a symbol placeholder). Unlike the free symbols, the user-defined symbols are only available to you in the corresponding discipline.

Description

Use these buttons to switch between the different groups of symbol types. The name of the currently selected group is displayed in the dropdown list to the right of the buttons.

Drop-down list symbol groups

Displays the currently selected group of symbol types and allows switching between groups.

Standard size

Restores the default size of the dialog if it has been resized.

, Stretch/Do not stretch buttons

If the dialog has been resized, you can use these buttons to adjust the size of the icon buttons to the size of the dialog or to reset them to the default size.

Options

Opens the Symbol Bar Options where you can specify settings for inserting symbols.

Search symbol

Opens the Symbol Search dialog, where you can search for symbols. After entering and confirming the search term, the system searches for symbols and displays the first symbol toolbar that contains a symbol with the search term. The search hits are highlighted in color. Upper and lower case is not considered. To check if there are further results in other groups, use Search next symbol .

Search next symbol

Searches the other groups of symbol and moves to the next group with search results.

Symbol Tag for Pipe and Duct Network Calculation

You can highlight symbols that you can use for the pipe network calculation with the LINEAR Analyse modules. To do this, enable the Highlight checkbox in the dialog Toolbar Options ( ➤ ) and, if necessary, use the color field to adjust the color used. Symbols that are not colored after activation are only intended for graphical representations in the drawing.
