Adding a QR code to a plan to check if it is up to date

Shows step-by-step how to initially place a QR code in a plan of a DWG drawing to check whether the plan is up to date.

Before you begin

You have created a plan and want to add a QR code to it so that you can check whether the plan is up to date on the construction site with a simple scan.

Requirements:

  • The current view is the plan that is to receive the QR code.
  • The plan includes a title block with data for the fields Project Name, Plan Content, and Z-No. – this information serves to uniquely identify the plan.

Navigate to:

“Labeling and Output” TabPlot / Print

Applies to all disciplines.

Command group “Plot/Print” in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk AutoCAD

Procedure

  1. Click on Generate QR Code ....
  2. Select the title block containing the data for the QR code in the drawing by clicking on it.
  3. Click in the drawing to indicate the desired insertion point for the QR code.
Note: When renewing the QR code, the already placed QR code is automatically replaced after selecting the title block, the new code is activated and the outdated code is deactivated.

Results

The QR code is placed as an AutoCAD block at the selected insertion point and activated. The size and position of the QR code can be adjusted later using default AutoCAD tools.
