About QR Codes on Plans

Explains the concept of QR codes on plans.

In the LINEAR Solutions, plans can be provided with a QR code in order to check that the plan is up to date on the construction site with a simple scan. The page that openes by the scanning the code reports whether the current plan status is up-to-date. The functionality requires a functioning internet connection, as the QR codes are managed on a LINEAR server.

When placing a QR code on a digital plan of a DWG drawing for the first time, you can specify the settings for the placement in a AutoCAD dialog. Once the QR code has been placed, the code is activated. If a QR code has already been placed on another plan of the DWG drawing, the settings for the placement are automatically adopted from the plan with an existing QR code and the code is activated after placement. If a digital plan with an existing QR code is provided with a new QR code, the new code is automatically placed in the position of the existing code. The old code is removed and deactivated. As soon as the QR code of a plan is digitally updated, the page that opens after scanning the QR code on the outdated printout will report that the plan is no longer up to date. QR codes can also be deactivated by deleting the code with the corresponding AutoCAD command or the Delete key so that printouts with the code are shown as obsolete.

Note: As DWG files do not currently support the saving of images, the QR code is saved in a separate PNG file, which is saved under the save path of the DWG file. Make sure that the corresponding PNG files of the QR codes are always included when passing on the DWG files.
