Update Building Structure from a CAD Program

Shows step-by-step how to update the building structure of an existing building with new data from the CAD program.

Click on Update .

The following context menu opens:
To update only certain structure levels in Revit, e.g. a room or a storey, you can also select the corresponding structure level in the Building Structure and click on again so that the corresponding option is offered in the menu. This does not apply for AutoCAD or CADinside.
If you initially created your project from a room data sheet and now want to synchronize it with a suitable CAD model, you can check the synchronization settings in a corresponding notification before synchronizing and adjust them if necessary.
Specify whether the building structure should be updated with or without enveloping surfaces from the CAD program by activating the respective option.

The option Update Building Structure without Enveloping Surfaces is only available if the building was detected without enveloping surfaces. After an update with the Update Building Structure with Enveloping Surfaces option, the Update Building Structure without Enveloping Surfaces option is no longer available.
If necessary, select the synchronization settings to be used or adjust the synchronization settings via Configure Synchronization ....
Click on Start ....

The building structure is updated according to the selected options with or without enveloping surfaces and taking into account the synchronization settings.
Components changed in the CAD program are recreated by LINEAR Building during the update. U-values are not overwritten, but all other data are.

Your project in LINEAR Building is updated and corresponds to the status of the CAD program.
