Details on Shaft

Information on the Shaft dialog.

In this dialog, you determine the height of the shaft and specify in the 3D - IFC Workflow Planning Type whether the shaft receives room data and a room tag (room label).

Important:

The geometry of the architecture is taken from the linked IFC file when the building is detected in the 3D - IFC Workflow, so do not create any shaft surfaces in existing rooms. Due to the lack of enveloping surfaces, such shafts are not correctly recognized in the building detection.

Height

You can use the drop-down list to choose between the following options for defining the height of the Shafts:

  • Storey Height: The height of the current storey is used as shaft height. The storey heights are specified in the Storey table.
  • Manual Entry: Activates the input field for manually entering the room Shaft height. After the building has been transferred to LINEAR Building, the value is not displayed in the general room data of the shaft, but is used for the heights of the walls in the heating or cooling load calculation.
Note: Only shafts with room data are transferred to LINEAR Building.
  • Maximum Expansion: This option is only available in the 3D - IFC Workflow planning type. The shaft is given the maximum possible height in the drawing. The height of the shaft is maintained until it reaches a limiting component.

With Room Data

The checkbox With Room Data is only available in the 3D - IFC Workflow planning type.

Enabled: After clicking OK, the Room Data dialog opens, in which you can specify the name, room type and heating/cooling temperature of the shaft, to name a few. The shaft is then provided with the set room data and receives a room tag (room label). These shafts are detected by the Building Detection and also transferred to LINEAR Building.

Disabled: The shaft does not receive any room data or a room tag. Shafts defined in this way are not included in the Building detection and are not transferred to LINEAR Building. However, the adjacent situation of room components adjacent to such shafts is correctly passed to LINEAR Building.
