Drawing a 3D Air Duct

Shows step-by-step how to draw a 3D air duct.

Before you begin

You want to draw a 3D air duct.

Navigate to:

Project tabDiscipline Ventilation3D - Model planningCreate tabCommand group Pipes

Applies to: Ventilation

Procedure

  1. On the Create tab, select a construction height, a reference edge and, if necessary, an offset.
  2. Select the Medium for the air duct, e.g. Exhaust air.
  3. Click Draw duct <.
  4. Click in the drawing area to define the starting point of the duct.

    If you have not yet defined any duct material in the current drawing, the Duct dialog opens.

  5. Specify the duct shape by selecting a tab (rectangular, oval or round).
  6. Make all the required settings for the dimensions, Material, Insulation and Connectors on the corresponding tab and, if necessary, change the Reference edge in the construction direction.
    Note: To specify the dimensions, you must have previously selected a material for the corresponding duct shape.

  7. Click OK to confirm the specifications.
    The dialog closes and you can start drawing.
  8. Use the mouse pointer to show the direction of the duct to be constructed and click to define the next point for the course. Alternatively, you can also use the options in the context menu for creating the ducts.
    Note: Bends are drawn automatically when the direction is changed.
  9. End the drawing process by pressing Enter or ESC.

Results

You have drawn a 3D air duct.
