Assigning User-Defined Simultaneity via Special Buildings

Shows step-by-step how you can assign user-defined simultaneity requirements via the assignment of the building type Special building.

Before you begin

You need different simultaneity settings in your project and want to control them manually via the Special building building type.

Requirements:

The basic building type for the project is set in the settings.

Notice:

If the building type Special building is used, the calculation no longer assumes standard-based simultaneities, but the manually assigned simultaneities. Make changes with caution and only after consulting with the respective persons in charge.

Navigate to:

Project tab ➤ Disciplines ... ➤ Potable water ➤ Analyse tab ➤ Calculation ...

Applies to: Potable water.

Procedure

Click Peak flow rate....

The dialog Peak Flow and Simultaneity opens. By default, you will first see the settings for section 1 at the start of the network.
Click on Search pipe section and use the pickbox to select the pipe section from which the building type Special building is to be assigned.
In the dialog that is displayed again, select the building type Special building from the drop-down list Calculation by building type.
A dialog opens asking you to enter the simultaneity for the special building.
Enter a value and close the dialog by clicking OK.
Click on Assign simultaneity to special building to define the simultaneities within the special building.
Use the pickbox to select the sections and confirm the selection with Enter.
Simultaneities set via this command will not be passed on to subsequent pipe sections.
Enter the new simultaneity for the selected section in the following dialog. Close the dialog with a click on OK.
Assign the simultaneity to all relevant sections as described and finish the process by right-clicking.
If necessary, check the assigned simultaneity values with the visualizations Display simultaneity, Display special building simultaneity and Display building type.

Results

In the project, different simultaneities are defined at all corresponding points via the building type Special building.
