Change Colors of Drawing Objects

Shows step-by-step how to change the colors of objects in a drawing.

Before you begin

You want to change the colors of objects in your drawing.

Tip:

If required, you can also move the objects to a different layer and/or assign them a different line type when executing this command.

Navigate to:

Tools tabCommand group Change

Applies to all disciplines.

Procedure

  1. Click on Change colors<.
  2. Select the objects to be changed in the drawing and confirm your selection.
    The command line offers the option to filter the selected objects by color, layer, line type or element type.
  3. If necessary, select one of the filter options and then enter the value in the command line by which you want to filter. Alternatively, you can skip this option by pressing Enter.
    If you have used one of the filter options, you will then be offered the filter options again and you can continue filtering or skip the option by pressing Enter.

    If you have skipped the filter option, the new color is requested in the command line.

  4. Enter the desired color by color number or as an RGB value in the command line and confirm your entry.
    The option to move the objects to another layer is offered in the command line.
  5. If necessary, enter the name of the layer to which you want to move the objects in the command line. Alternatively, you can skip this option by pressing Enter.
    Note: You can only move objects to layers that already exist in the drawing.
    The command line offers the option of assigning a different line type to the objects.
  6. If necessary, enter the name of the line type to be assigned to the objects in the command line. Alternatively, you skip this option by pressing Enter.
    Note: You can only assign line types that already exist in the drawing.
    A message appears showing how many elements have been changed.

Results

You have changed the colors of objects in your drawing.
