Searching Room Outlines

Shows step-by-step how to use the Search room outline command to detect the room outlines, for example, to search for the new room outlines after changing rooms.

Before you begin

You want to automatically create the room contours of a room with three-dimensional walls or search for the new room contours after changing rooms.

Navigate to:

Project tab ➤ Discipline Architecture ➤ Planning type 3D - IFC-Import Workflow/ 3D - Model planning/ 2.5D Model planning ➤ Create tab ➤ Command group Storeys and Axes/Room-, Building contours

Procedure

Click on the frame of the two room contours to select the room contour.

The room contours are selected and displayed with grips.
Press the Remove key to delete the room contours.
Click Search room outline <.
Click into the bathroom.

The room contour is then created as a red area and the room label is attached to the crosshairs.
Determine the insertion point for the room label in your drawing.
The Room data dialog opens.
Enter the room dimensions.
Confirm your entries with OK.
Optional: Repeat the steps 4 to 6 for additional rooms.
End the command by doing a right click.

Results

The room contours have been newly detected and the room data has been changed.
