Details on "Pipes and Connection Sets"
Information on the Pipes and Connection Sets dialog in the Rohrnetzberechnung Quartiersnetze.
In this dialog, you assign pipe systems and insulation levels for the calculation and define connection sets for certain categories of the selected pipe systems. Next, you can define the global prioritization of the connection set for the component types and open the dialog for defining the delivery options for all pipe systems. You can use the visualization function to highlight data relevant to pipes and insulation in color in the drawing.
You are here:

General
You can define default material combinations that are used for all pipes that have not been assigned a different material combination. In addition, you can automatically assign different materials based on the location of the pipes and, if necessary, create custom entries to assign them to specific components in the drawing.
Every material combination always consists of a primary and secondary system. The primary system defined in the first row is used first for sizing until its maximum nominal diameter is reached. If the maximum nominal diameter of the primary system is exceeded, the secondary system specified in the second row is used.
Columns of the Dialog
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Active | Determines whether the material assignment is carried out based on the location of the pipes. To activate, click in the field of the row Automatic Positioning. Default Material Combination and Custom Entries cannot be deactivated. |
| Name | Indicates the different types of material assignment (shown in bold). Automatic Positioning also displays the different pipe types for the function. Under Custom Entries, you define the names for the custom material combinations in the rows of the primary systems. |
| Lines/Pipes | In the Lines/Pipes columns, specify the material for pipes or pipes drawn with lines. Click on For Automatic Positioning and Custom Entries, clicking on
|
| Max. DN | For primary systems, specifies the maximum nominal diameter up to which the selected pipe system is used for sizing. Click on to open a list with the available nominal diameters of the selected pipe system. For secondary systems, the largest possible nominal diameter of the selected pipe system is displayed. |
| pref. Insulation Level | Defines the insulation level for the material combination of the pipe system. Click on to open a list with the available insulation levels of the pipe system. Insulation level 1 is the lowest insulation level. |
| Connection Sets | Click on to open a context menu that allows you to prioritize connection sets for the following categories depending on the selected pipe system:
Click on the entry to open the corresponding priority dialogs for ...Knee and ...Pipe Connections, in which you can adjust the priorities of the individual connection set entries. For the categories ...Node, ...Building Connections and ...Valves/Other, a list opens for next narrowing down the category, which you can use to open the corresponding priority dialogs. Delivery Options allow you to adjust the prioritization of the various delivery options of the selected pipe system. The Apply from... entry is only available in the context menus of the Automatic Positioning and Custom Entries areas and allows you to adopt the prioritizations of other entries, provided that the same pipe system is assigned to these entries. Note: The standard entries cannot take over the prioritizations from any other entry, even if the system matches. |
Buttons of the Dialog
| Button | Description |
|---|---|
| Assign ... | Use this function to manually assign the currently selected material combination to selected areas in the drawing. After clicking on the button, you specify in a context menu whether the material is assigned to the entire Trench Section (Pipe/Duct section), only to the Distribution Pipes or only to the Heat Interface Units of the subsequent selection. You can also deactivate/activate the Overwrite Local Settings option in the context menu Enabled: Assigning the material combination overwrites previous local material assignments. Disabled: When assigning the material combination, previous local material assignments are retained. This means that only pipes to which no material has been assigned locally receive the material combinations. |
| Delete ... | Removes assigned material combination from selected areas in the drawing and assigns the material combination Default Material Combination to the selection. After clicking on the button, you specify in a context menu whether the assigned material combination of the entire Trench Section (Pipe/Duct section), the Distribution Pipe or only the Heat Interface Unit of the subsequent selection is deleted. You can also deactivate/activate the Overwrite Local Settings option in the context menu Enabled: When the material combination is deleted, locally assigned material assignments are also removed. Disabled: When deleting the material combination, locally assigned material assignments are retained. This means that only material combinations that have not been assigned locally are removed. |
| Inquire < | This function is used to display the assigned material combination in the table after selecting a pipe in the drawing. |
| Save ... | Opens the file explorer and saves the current material configuration in the *.lme format by default in the folder |
| Load ... | Opens the file explorer, in which you can load a previously saved material configuration in the *.lme format for use in the current project. |
| Visualization ... | After assigning the pipes, you can view the following properties of the pipes in the drawing:
The pipes are displayed in color and a dialog with the legend for the color mapping is displayed, in which you can make further configurations. If required, you can place the legend in the drawing after double-clicking in the dialog. Next, you can deactivate/activate the Reset Colors option in the context menu Enabled: After ending the visualization, the pipes or ducts revert to their original color. Disabled: After finishing the visualization, the pipes or ducts keep the colors of the visualization. This way the color display of the visualization can be used in sheets. |
| Delivery Options ... | Opens the Delivery Option Settings dialog in which you can define the delivery options for the various pipe systems. |
