Here you can find all new features of the current version as well as all new features of the last versions! We update the list with the release of the features to the respective update (Feature Pack). You can easily download and install the update to the latest version via the LINEAR Installation Center. 

Note: Most of the new features are only available for subscription customers. 

For major releases (new version number) you need the corresponding licenses. You can request these as a subscription customer on our contact page.

Standards-Compliant Air Volume Calculation Now Also for Garages

LINEAR Solutions V26.0

The air volume calculation in LINEAR Building has been expanded at the request of numerous users from our Idea Channel to include an additional calculation method: you can now also determine outdoor air volume flows for garages in compliance with VDI 2053-1. This brings the total number of calculation methods for residential and non-residential buildings to 14.

The new method is seamlessly integrated into LINEAR Building and benefits from the familiar, consistent user interface. All parameters and calculation steps are managed centrally and uniformly. Particularly practical: changes in the air volume calculation automatically affect the heat load calculation. This keeps your design consistent and up-to-date – without manual intermediate steps or duplicate data maintenance.

The international potable water standards already familiar from calculations in LINEAR Analyse are now also integrated into the hydraulic calculation of potable water schemes in LINEAR Building. This means: You can not only create schematic drawings in LINEAR Building, but now also calculate them according to international standards.

This allows you to benefit from consistent results across all design phases and programs and significantly increases design reliability and simplifies the processing of international projects.

Since version 25.2, you’ve been able to edit relevant calculation parameters directly in the properties. This time-saving approach has now been extended to all input dialogs. They can now be opened directly from the properties – without detours through the Control Board or extra clicks. Thanks to this extension, you can make targeted adjustments to important parameters exactly where you’re already working in your design process. This shortens your workflow, speeds up data entry, and boosts overall project efficiency.

Enhanced Project Information with Layout-Specific Details

Direct community feedback - implemented: project information has been raised to a new level. You can now distinguish between project-specific and layout-specific data – enabling you to specifically store individual information per layout. This allows different drawing title blocks and documentation to be automatically filled with the correct data. This provides greater clarity and speeds up the design process.

More clarity in your floor plans: wastewater aeration pipes now stand out visually from other risers – instantly recognizable by a dedicated symbol. The new representation makes your plans clearer and reduces confusion during construction. Currently, you can manually edit the symbols via the library. Automatic consideration during symbol generation will follow in one of the upcoming releases and will further accelerate the workflow.

Calculated Duct Areas now Available as Parameters in the Properties

LINEAR Solutions V26.0

With version 26.0, we fulfill a frequently expressed customer request from the LINEAR Idea Channel: calculated duct areas are now available as parameters directly on the components and displayed in the properties. The values can be used without additional steps for evaluations, precise cost estimations, or seamless transfer to cost estimation software. Writing the parameter to the components must be actively triggered in the e-klimaX export, as the areas are not automatically updated when changes are made to the network. We therefore recommend that you only do this when no further changes to the network are expected. If changes do occur, the areas must be written to the components again.

All menus, dialog boxes, the Control Board, and every function and tool have been professionally translated into Polish. This complete localization covers all modules – from LINEAR Desktop and LINEAR Analyse to LINEAR Building – allowing Polish-speaking engineers to work in their native language for the first time.

Version 26.0 introduces an important structural adjustment to file management: non-executable files such as user standards and support files are now stored in the ProgramData directory, while executable program files remain exclusively in the protected Program Files directory. The new shading analysis feature enables you to evaluate self and external shading of buildings directly based on your Revit model – precise, automated, and fully integrated into your energy planning.

  • Automatic solar position calculation: Based on location, date, and time, all relevant sun positions are determined automatically.
  • Analysis of self and external shading: Shading from the building itself and surrounding structures is derived directly from the model, with all relevant geometries taken into account.
  • Visual result display: Shading degrees for individual windows are displayed as curves – enabling quick plausibility checks and targeted optimization.
  • Direct integration into cooling load calculation: The calculated shading data is incorporated into the dynamic cooling load calculation. Solar gains through transparent components are accurately considered – for energy-efficient system design.

  • Intuitive configuration via drag & drop: Easily add desired parameters to your label family via double-click or drag & drop.
