Creating new view dialog Linear Revit

View type

Select the view type. Top views such as floor plans, ceiling plans and area plans as well as 3D and drafting views are available for selection. You can create sections using the Horizontal working section or Vertical working section functions. In addition, the Section and View functions are available in the Create group on the View tab of the Revit ribbon.

Template

Select one of the supplied view templates or a previously created view so that its view properties, such as visibility settings, can be used for the new view or views. Only views of the currently selected view type are displayed. The view templates contain appropriately set view properties such as visibility settings, scale and level of detail.

Building Part

Select whether the new view should show only the selected building part or all building parts.

Storeys

For floor plans, area and ceiling plans, and drawing views, you can use the checkboxes to select additional storeys for which new views are also to be created.

Discipline

Select whether the new view should show only one specific discipline or all disciplines.

LoG (Level of Geometry)

Drop-down list to select the model development level. The selection of the LoG defines the level of detail of the elements in the view. You can define the view settings of each LoG in the Options.

To be used in sheets

Enabled: Marks the view as a sheet view. You can filter the list of available views using the view filter and the option Show views used in sheets.

Note: A view is also automatically marked as a sheet view as soon as it is placed on a sheet.

Disabled: Marks the view as the working view. The view filter and the options Work Views - General, Work Views - Username and Work Views - Other Users allow you to filter the list of available views accordingly.

For the current user

Enabled: Appends your user name to the name of the new view. You can filter the list of available views using the view filter and the option Work Views - Username.

Note: Changes to the appended user name mean that the corresponding filter option can no longer take the view with the changed name into account, as the user name of the current user is compared with the user name appended to the view names.

Disabled: No user name is appended to the name of the new view. This view cannot be shown or hidden depending on the user name. If necessary, use the Work Views - General option of the view filter to filter the list of available views and show or hide such views.

Name

The name is generated automatically and consists of the view type, the selected building section (if applicable), the selected storey (if applicable), the selected discipline (if applicable), and the current user name (if applicable). You can customize the name, provided that multiple storeys are not selected for the corresponding view types. You can also customize the names after creating views using the Rename View function. This function is displayed to the right of the names in the list of available views as soon as the cursor is hovered over a view.

Create view

Creates the new view or views with the selected settings.
