Details on Create Label Family

In this dialog, you create custom label families. You can then load and use the created label families in the Labeling dialog.

Labeling for

This drop-down list contains the Revit labeling categories. To create your label family, select an unambiguous category from the list to prevent incorrect assignment later when labeling. If you select an element in the model before calling up the Create Label Family function, the correct category is automatically listed and selected.

Group

Filters the list of parameters on the left-hand side of the dialog according to the selection in the drop-down list. All disciplines and workflows that are available in the LINEAR Solutions are listed as groups.

Search Term

The search function can be used to search the table with the parameters in the Description and Identifier columns. By entering a search term in the field, the table is filtered accordingly.

Table with Parameters

The table lists all the parameters that can be added to a labeling family. Parameters can be added to the parameter selection for the labeling family by double-clicking in the table row or using the button with the arrow symbol pointing to the right ().

Table Column Description

Lists the description of the parameters.

Table Column Identifier

Lists the LINEAR parameter used to retrieve the value for the label.

Settings Font/Formatting/Alignment

At the top right of the dialog you will find two identical areas with options for formatting the label text. The options on the left define the text styles for the description of the parameter, those on the right for the values in the label. As in a word processing program, the font, font size, style (bold, italic, underline), text color and alignment can be set here. You can see the changes on the Preview tab.

The table lists the parameters you have added to create the label family. An Example Value is displayed for each parameter in the right-hand column. You can change the order of the parameters using drag and drop. Parameters can be removed from the list by clicking on the button with the left arrow symbol () or by pressing the Del key.

Preview

A preview of the configured label family is displayed on this tab.

Create More

If you select this checkbox, the main dialog will not close after clicking OK and then saving the label family and you can create further label families.

Edit Details

Click this button if you want to save the label family and then edit it in the Revit family editor to add further elements such as a frame.

OK

Press this button to save the label family.
