Convert Model to Scheme <

“Convert Model to Scheme <” section in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk Revit

Convert Model to Scheme <: Starts the function for creating a scheme from the model. After selecting a component of the network, the Convert Model to Scheme dialog opens, where you can configure the settings for the scheme.

First drop-down list: Select the discipline for which the scheme is to be created. Click on to open the Group System Classes dialog, in which you can combine several system classes or system types into one system class to create the scheme. The settings in this dialog only affect the scheme creation.

Second drop-down list: Select the building part for which the scheme is to be created. Click on to open the dialog Adjust Storeys, in which you can adjust the distances of finished floors or suspended ceilings for the creation of the scheme and define the correct storey level reference. The settings in this dialog only affect the scheme creation.

Symbol Functions

Define Symbol Assignments ...: Opens the Symbol Settings dialog, where you have the possibility to change symbols for components in the scheme or to reset them to the default assignment.

Change Symbol <: Changes an existing symbol assignment in the scheme.

Linking Functions

Show Link <: Starts the function for selecting an element with subsequent display of the respective linked element. The selection can be made in the model as well as in the scheme. Bends have no link between model and scheme.

Create Link <, Detach Link <: Creates or detaches the link of elements between model and scheme.

Lableling Functions

Labeling <: Starts the function for labeling elements in the scheme. When labeling manually, the assigned labels of the dialog Symbol settings are used.

Update Labels <: Updates All labels or only those of the selection in the current scheme.

Parameter Functions

You can transfer shared parameters from the 3D model to linked elements in the scheme. The values of these parameters can be used in a user-defined label to label the scheme.

Transfer Parameters <: Writes all shared parameters from linked 3D components to selected elements of the scheme.

Update parameters <: Updates All parameters already transferred or only those of the Selection in the current scheme.

Scheme Editor <

Opens the current scheme view for editing in the Edit Scheme dialog. Various functions are available for editing, allowing you to edit the scheme without losing the component connections. After editing, you can transfer the changes to the drafting view.

Move Pipe <

Moves a pipe orthogonally to its course. Any connected pipes are also moved. While moving the pipe, a live preview is displayed. To prevent an accidental change of the network topology, pipes can only be moved within their segment. A segment is limited by fittings or built-in parts.

Move Symbol Horizontally <, Move Symbol Vertically <

After clicking on the desired function and selecting symbols to be moved, a live preview is displayed at the cursor. To prevent an accidental change of the network topology, symbols can only be moved within their segment. A segment is limited by fittings or built-in parts. Built-in parts can only be moved along their pipe.

Connect Symbol <

“Connect Symbol <” area in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk Revit

Connect Symbol <: Starts the function for connecting symbols to pipes.

The command offers the in Series option for connecting potable water appliances. You can set the corresponding dimensions for the connection using the fields Width Ear Elbow, Fitting Diameter and Pipe Spacing.

Align Elements <

Aligns elements to a user-defined reference line. The reference line can be aligned to any elements in the scheme and is displayed as a dashed line after clicking on it. In the second step, the line of the symbol to be moved can be clicked to move the symbol. If the reference line is not parallel to the selected line of the symbol to be moved, the symbol will be moved to the intersection of the click point and the reference line. If the alignment would result in a changed network topology, the symbol is only moved within the constructive possibilities.

Pipe Offset <

“Pipe Offset <” section in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk Revit

Pipe Offset <: Starts the function for creating pipe offsets, taking the settings into account.

Radius: Text field for entering the pipe offset radius in mm.

Alignment: Clicking on the buttons changes the horizontal or vertical orientation of the offset.

Refresh <: Applies the current radius and alignment settings to selected offsets. If no offsets are selected, they can be selected after clicking Update <.

Draw Pipe <

“Draw Pipe” section in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk Revit

Draw pipe <: Starts the function for drawing new pipes of the selected System Class.

If necessary, after starting the function, activate the Revit checkbox Chain at the top left under the Revit Ribbon to be able to draw pipes continuously. After terminating the command with Esc, fitting circles with the specified fitting diameter are automatically placed at bends and T-pieces.

If you select built-in parts or fittings and delete them using the Del key, the resulting gap in the pipe is automatically closed.
