Details on Pipe Tables/Duct Tables
Information about the dialogs Pipe Tables and Duct Tables in the pipe or duct network calculation.
In this dialog, you will find compatible pipe systems from all installed manufacturers as well as neutral systems under the manufacturer Custom. In the discipline gas, in addition to Custom, pipe systems from the manufacturer selected in the Product Data dialog are offered. In the discipline Ventilation only User is available.
You are here:
Disciplines: Heating, Potable Water, Waste Water, Cooling, Roof Drainage
Discipline: Ventilation
Discipline: Gas
Applies to: Heating, Potable water, Waste water, Ventilation, Cooling, Gas.

Rigid Pipes, Flexible Pipes and Rectangular Ducts
Depending on the column of the Pipes and Insulation dialog from which the pipe tables were opened, the pipe tables are opened with the corresponding tab and the systems and dimensions are listed in the corresponding tables.
Only Rigid Pipes are available in the Gas discipline.
In the Ventilation discipline, all three tabs are available in the pipe tables.
Manufacturer
Drop-down list for selecting the manufacturer. Select the desired material from all installed manufacturers and the corresponding pipe systems. The manufacturer Custom contains neutral pipe and duct systems that can be adjusted and extended. The input is automatically saved in an external file.
In the discipline Gas, in addition to Custom, pipe systems from the manufacturer selected in the Product Data dialog are offered.
In the discipline Ventilation only Custom is available.
System
Here you can select all systems that are contained in the selected manufacturer data set.
System Tables
In the upper table, systems from the selected manufacturer are displayed. The systems under User-defined are expandable. To create a new system, click into a free row the table.
Element | Description |
---|---|
Active | Activate the field for the system you want to use for the material assignment. You can specify different materials for individual pipe and duct sections in the Ventilation and Gas disciplines using the Pipe Material ... </Duct Material ... function in the Components area. Note: This column is not available in the disciplines heating, potable water, waste water and cooling. |
Name | The name of the pipe or duct system is used for labeling and in the parts lists. |
Abbreviation | The abbreviation of the pipe or duct system name is used for labeling. |
Roughness | The roughness of the pipe or duct material is used to calculate pressure losses. Note: This column is not available in the discipline waste water. |
Thickness | For the discipline ventilation, the wall thickness of the duct material is displayed additionally for rectangular ducts. |
Weight | For the discipline ventilation, specific weight of the duct material is displayed additionally. |
Drag coefficients: (Potable Water)
In the discipline potable water each pipe system needs a material-dependent drag coefficient table assigned for the fittings. This assignment usually already exists. If the assignment is missing, select a suitable drag coefficient table for the respective material class.

Table of Dimensions
In the lower table, available dimensions of the selected system are shown. The dimensions under User-defined are expandable. To create a new dimension, click in an empty row of the table. Dimensions are automatically sorted by size.
Element | Description |
---|---|
Active | Only activated dimensions are considered during calculation. You can specifically exclude certain dimensions from automatic dimensioning by deactivating the field. The deactivated dimensions are still available for manual selection in the calculation dialog in the Pipe Section area. |
DN Pipe/Duct, DN | Shows the available nominal diameters of the pipe or duct. |
Width, Height | For the discipline Ventilation, oval and rectangular ducts additionally show available widths and heights. Width and Height can be activated or deactivated separately for rectangular ducts. This is helpful if the height or width of a duct must be restricted. |
Ø Interior | Interior diameter is used for calculation and dimensioning. |
Ø Exterior | Exterior diameter is used for assignment of insulation from the insulation tables. |
DN Valves | Determines the connector size of built in valves. |
Name of Dimension | The dimension name can be selected freely and is used for labeling and in parts lists. |
