Transfer Building from Room Book

Shows step by step how to transfer a building from a room book that is available in Excel format into LINEAR Building.

Before you begin

You have a room book in Excel format and want to import the room data into LINEAR Building.

Navigate to:

LINEAR Building ➤ Toolbar

Procedure

  1. Click on Transfer Building from Room Book in the Main Menu.

    The Select Template dialog opens.

  2. Select the desired template and click OK.
    The dialog Import Room Book opens.
  3. Click on and open the desired Excel file.
  4. For the selected room book, configure the settings for Worksheet, ID Column, Header Row, and Data from Row.
  5. Click in the Room Parameter column in the respective rows on to assign the LINEAR room parameters corresponding to the columns of the room book.
    Important: For a successful data import, at least storey and room names are required as room parameters.
  6. Click on Import after the assignment is complete.

Results

A notification to confirm the successful import appears and the data of the linked room book is then displayed in the building structure with the information from the assigned room parameters.
