Configuring and Placing a Floor Box

Shows step-by-step how to configure a floor box and place it in your project.

Before you begin

You also want to configure floor boxes as part of your electrical installation and place them in the corresponding rooms.

Requirements:

You have opened the view in which you want to place floor boxes.

Navigate to:

Project TabDiscipline: ElectricalLibrary Tab

Applies to Electrical.

Procedure

  1. Open the configurator for floor boxs in the Configurators area by clicking on Floor Box ....
    Dialog Floor Box in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk Revit
  2. Select the basic Tank Type from the drop-down list.
    The selected tank type determines the final size of the floor box.
    Note: The tip on the tank illustration indicates the side on which the hinges of the tank are located.
  3. Create the desired number of mounting brackets by clicking on Insert Mounting Bracket or by clicking on delete existing mounting brackets.
  4. Specify the desired number of Positions for all mounting brackets.
  5. Drag and drop the required components from the component library to their positions.
  6. Check and change the Type for your components if necessary.
  7. Click Draw <.
    The Floor Box dialog is hidden and the configured floor box is attached to the cursor.
  8. Make sure that you have activated the placement mode Place on surface or Place on work plane in the Revit Ribbon.
  9. Click to place the floor box in all desired rooms. Finish the process with ESC.

Results

All floor boxes are placed in the desired rooms with the set configuration.

Tip: You can subsequently adjust the installation height and other parameters of the floor box in the Type Properties.
