Detecting a Partial Pipe Network

Shows step-by-step how to limit the detection of components and pipes or ducts for calculation to partial networks.

Before you begin

For example, you want to calculate selected components of the pipe network for checking or troubleshooting.

Requirement

You have opened a view that is suitable for selecting the desired part of the network.

Note: A partial network can only be calculated if it is self-contained. If necessary, use the symbols for partial network start or end to close gaps in the network.

Procedure

  1. Select the option Detect Partial Network in the drop-down list Component Selection.
    Note: In the Potable Water discipline, this section is located on the Component Detection tab, and in Wastewater, it is located on the General tab. In the Ventilation and Gas disciplines, yyou will find the drop-down list in the expandable dialog section Component Detection.
    The Settings dialog is temporarily hidden for selecting the components in the drawing.
  2. Select all the corresponding components and confirm the selection with Enter.
    The Settings dialog is displayed again and the number of selected components is shown in the Component selection drop-down list.
  3. Optional: Check your selection in the drawing by clicking on .
  4. Optional: Click on to reselect the components.

Results

The corresponding partial network is selected and will be taken into account in the next calculation. Before the calculation, you can change the selection of the partial network, if necessary.
