Making General Settings

Shows step by step how to define general settings for calculating gas pipe networks.

Before you begin

You want to make sure that all parameters are set correctly before the calculation.

Note: This task serves as a support for setting basic parameters for the calculation. Deviating from or in addition to the steps listed, further settings may be required to obtain the desired result.

Dialog Settings for calculation Gas in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk AutoCAD

Procedure

  1. In the Component Detection area, decide whether Modeled Dimensions in the network should be transferred during detection, not transferred, or only transferred for a selection.
  2. In the section Calculation presettings, select the desired design method from the drop-down list.
  3. Check the Basic conditions and adjust the values if necessary.
  4. If necessary, specify the method to be used for the Pressure Loss Determination.
  5. Specify whether the gas excess flow valve should be calibrated or whether no gas excess flow valve checks should be performed.
  6. Deactivate the option Detect Material with every Calculation if, for example, you have a large project and want to reduce the calculation time.

Results

The basic settings for the calculation have been made and are now taken into account during the calculation.
