About Structure Configurations
Explains the concept of the structure configurations in LINEAR Building.
In larger projects, the building structure of a project can quickly become overwhelming. Structure Configurations provide you with a practical and time-saving tool for displaying the structure of your project and editing room parameters. In particular, room data sheets from larger projects can be clearly displayed and efficiently edited.
You can use the structure configurations to configure how the structure of the project is displayed in the Building area and in the room data sheet views of the Room Data Sheet module. You can then select these structure configurations in the Building area to change the display of the structure tree and the room data sheet views accordingly.
The default configuration is the Building Structure, which breaks down the structure of the building into building parts, floors, apartments, areas, and rooms. There are other configurations included that you can customize, such as the configuration By Room Type. If you select this configuration, the rooms in the building are grouped by room type. Accordingly, all bedrooms, for example, are listed together under the room type Bedroom in the structure tree and in the room data sheet view. This allows the data and parameters for these rooms to be edited collectively in the Room Data Sheet module by selecting the higher-level level via the tables and functions in the room data sheet views.
An example would be adding the number of utility rooms in all kitchens in a building. The corresponding parameter is listed in the room data sheet view Sanitary Data. If you select the structure configuration By Room Type and then select the room type Kitchen in the structure tree, only the kitchen rooms are displayed in the room data sheet view and can be edited collectively there.
In addition to the predefined structure configurations, you can also create user-defined configurations with the available parameters in the Structure Configurations dialog. If you need additional parameters to define a structure configuration, you can create them in the Properties Sets dialog. When defining them, you can use prefixes and separators for a better overview. For example, you can create a new configuration in which the rooms are grouped according to net floor area type (effective floor area, circulation area, technical functional area). Optionally, you can assign a prefix for a better overview, e.g. Net Floor Area Type:.
