Creating Structure Configurations

Shows step by step how to create structure configurations for displaying the project structure in the Building area and the room data sheet views of the Room Data Sheet module.

Before you begin

You want to create a structure configuration so that the structure of your project is broken down in the Building area and the room data sheet views of the Room Data Sheet module based on other parameters, i.e., other structural elements.

Requirements

You know the parameters you want to use to define the structure of the structural levels.

Navigate to

Module Selection (Module Overview) ➤ Structure Configurations (Area: Building)

Procedure

  1. Click Add Configuration.

    The Structure Definition dialog opens.

  2. Enter the name for the new structure configuration and click OK.
    The new structure configuration is listed under Available Configurations and is selected for configuring the structure levels.
  3. Optional: In the Prefix field of the first row, enter a prefix for the first level of the new structure configuration.
  4. Click in the Parameter 1 field of the first row and then click the button that appears.

    A context menu opens for selecting the first parameter of the structure level. The parameters are listed in the context menu grouped according to the property sets to which the parameters are assigned. The context menu also contains a group with general parameters and a group with heat load parameters.

  5. Select a parameter for defining the first structure level.
  6. Optional: In the first Separator field, enter a separator that will appear between the first and second parameters of the structure level.
  7. Optional: In the Parameter 2 field, select another parameter for the outline level.
  8. Optional: In the second Separator field, enter a separator that appears between the second and third parameters of the outline level.
  9. Optional: In the Parameter 3 field, select another parameter for the outline level.
    The first outline level of the structure configuration is defined.
  10. Define the other outline levels of the structure configuration by selecting the corresponding parameters and entering prefixes and separators if necessary.
  11. Click OK.

Results

The structure configuration has been created and selected, and the structure tree for the Building area and, if applicable, the Room Data Sheet views of the room data sheet module are displayed in accordance with the new structure configuration.
